To teach someone self taught knowledge is a bit scary .. and it may be very wrong in others eyes .. but  here goes .... I shall simplistically write how I do MY pic uploads:-

1)  Choose your picture on your computer, open it, then go up to the drop down menu and choose "Save As".  For ease of access I save to the desktop BUT when the "Save As" box comes up, you will see at the very bottom there is "Save As Type".  If it does not show .jpeg in that bottom box ... hit the arrow on the right hand side and choose ".jpeg".  Okay .. then for simplicity name it something like "holiday blog".  Hit Save.    Go to the desktop and check that it is there
.
2)  Okay you have your blog written and it is time to include your pic.  See where it says "Upload a photo".  Hit that Browse button and up pops a box to tell the computer where you pic is stored.  On the left hand side, choose Desktop, then find that pic you saved there with it's special name.  Double click on the pic.
You will see words written in the box beside Browse of where the file you choose is to be found .. eg c:\ desktop \ holiday blog

3)  Now the important thing is to hit the Save and Publish button at the bottom of the blog writing page. Double click that .. wait a little while and voila!! ..  up pops your pic.

4)  At any stage you can clean the pics off of your desktop by right clicking it and go down to Delete in the little menu.

You can go back to previous blogs .. by going to that "Edit Previous" tab ... choose your blog to edit and download that pic if you want.

Good luck Deva and John .. this works for me .. fingers crossed it shall for you.

Have a beaut day everyone!!

Dustin took his first trip out with his Dad in the dinghy this weekend .. going out to check the crab pots in the river.

Our town is situated on the junction of two major rivers and there is an abundance of life ... including those beady eyed crocs.

The look on Dustin's face says it all ... he was taking in every second of this adventure.

We are lucky to be able to include crab on our dinner menus.

Hope your weekend was as beautiful (and tasty) as ours.

The Sydney City to Surf is the worlds largest timed fun run and one of the largest cause-related community events in Australia raising over one million dollars for charity ...

And ...

this year Tenille ran the 14klms and I am a very proud Mum.

No .. she didn't get anywhere .. but she did it in style.

Next month she intends on doing a half marathon ... a little concerned about that one.

(I pinched the pic off the official website ... naughty hey)

Wish I had a smidgeon of her energy.

Well .. it was only fearful to me really ... I was the chicken who went 2 levels and turned around.

This is the tower I mentioned in the rainforest walk .. massive thing .. and the worst bit is you can see straight through the flooring and steps .. so if you are like me .. with head down and gripping on for life ... hmmm.

The tower swayed too and all I could think of was how my daughter at the age of 14 bungy jumped!  That took SOME courage.

Last Saturday I visited a tourist spot about 15 mts drive from where I live.
This is a new tourist destination and is proving to be extremely popular so I thought I should experience it too ... The Mamu Rainforest Canopy Walk.

Wow .. it was pretty impressive .. standing 37metres above the ground surrounded by one of the largest webs of tangled rainforest on the planet. To close your eyes ... breathe deeply ... smell it .. to stop and just listen .. feeling nature touch you on the nose.

Located on the escarpment of our North Johnstone River gorge and perched high amongst the rainforest canopy looking down to the rushing river bend below. (my home is half a kilometre from this mighty river)

For the blokes .. here are some Features, Statistics and other stuff

> a 350m elevated walkway, rising from ground level to 15m high in the canopy of lush tropical rainforest
> a 10m cantilever and a 37m high observation tower with two viewing decks, with spectacular views over the North Johnstone River gorge and surrounding rainforest-clad peaks of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area
> more than 1100m of forest walking tracks, connecting the elevated walkway, cantilever and tower
> rest shelters presenting information about the history and heritage of this Mamu rainforest.
> About 156 tonnes of hot dipped galvanized steel
> Almost 22,000 bolts
> About 563 cubic metres of concrete are in tower footings.
> More than 900,000 plastic 2-litre milk bottles are in the recycled plastic decking on walkways.
> Steel structures were pre-fabricated off-site in Innisfail and Cairns, pre-assembled on-site then erected with a self-erecting tower crane.
> More than 3.5m of rain fell during construction.
> The walkway is built to withstand cyclonic winds.
> The walkway cost $10 million and took 16 months to build.

Perhaps when you visit Australia you should put this one on your list of "to do's"

PS My fear of heights came rushing through and I only made it a third of the way up the tower!  Yep I am a sookie-la-la!
