Tonight I was invited to a night like no other ...
Through the kindness and generosity of two brothers who I do work for, I was treated to an open air opera set in the rainforest of the tranquil gardens of our beautiful Paronella Park .. the ruins of a spanish castle and Queensland's no 1 tourist icon which is 15mts drive from home.
There were probably 100 people, sitting at candle lit tables with the luminated waterfall to one side and a stage set amongst the ruins at the bottom end of the massive grounds (as in the picture) entertained by such amazing "home grown" talent. The grand piano, its pianist and the singing trio who now live and perform in the cities, returned to their roots to provide an outstanding and absolutely unforgettable performance.
As John said (and he has travelled the world twice over) .. this here tonight is unique .. this could be anywhere ... Paris, Italy .. but no ... we are here in Innisfail ... OUR little town.
As I sipped Savignon Blanc and nibbled on the finest of delicacies .. I tonight realise that I have experienced one of the sweetest and most unique experiences of my lifetime.
Honestly ... it will never leave me ... it really was THAT special.

Well .. in a blink it was over
The 5 of us flew to Sydney then onto Penrith to visit Tenille (my youngest daughter)
Taronga Zoo ... the beautiful flowering Jacarandas on the Napean River ... family barbecue's ... just a wonderful family adventure.
Pity it was only a few days. Now.. I am looking forward to the next gathering ... Christmas at my place.
This pic is of the 5 of us who flew down ... Renee my eldest, Zack and my 2 gorgeous grandsons.
Yes .. life is good!

Saturday afternoon I flew to Sydney to my daughters but before I did ..
Decided to give the floors a vacume and mop didn't I (great to come home to a clean house) ... all good till ... the phone rang.
Noo .. she said ... it can wait. Then she thought .. geez it could be mum about Dad who has just had surgery for a pacemaker.
Soo ... she took 3 steps and over she went! Splat on that hard tiled floor for about 3 minutes thinking .. God my back is broken.
Got up onto my 4's then gradually clawed myself up onto the bed then up the wall ... yay!! I am standing!
My body was in shock for hours ( I am such a sook when it comes to frights) .. but I had to driveto Cairns and fly that 3 hours feeling shaky.
Besides the sore butt, the aching back, the torn arm muscles .. you should see one of my toes (it doesn't look like a toe) .. yukky purpley reddie thing .. swollen beyond belief ... lookin like if I even blew on it, it would burst! Sooo grosse ...
Oh yes ... it is broken!
Just call me hop a long in thongs.

Just got home from a fabulous night ..
There is a 40year reunion happening this Saturday night which I unfortunately cannot attend. (Had made arrangements months ago for a big weekend in Sydney with my daughters and grandchildren )...
But ... a couple of girls were in town tonight and we caught up before the big event.
It was soooo good ... just SO good to reunite with a few special people from way back then .. thought I would share it with you.
The class of 69 ... so long ago .. and the pic reminds us ... we are getting quite old! Grrrrrrrrrr

Beautiful Sue who helped me through the most turbulent times of recent years sent me a text today. It made me smile, but most of all it made me sit still, think .. and rejoice.
Sue & I are so alike ... we laughing call ourselves "soul sisters" .. we connect deeply without living in eachother's pockets ... are VERY like minded and can intuitively react to be there for one another.
And last night was typical .. she rang me late in the afternoon just to say Hi .. and within minutes I knew it was time for an impromtu visit .. yes .. time for a coffee.
The hours just flew .. her heart was heavy and was looking for some guidance and reassurance. Many laughs, hugs, and a few teary moments, we again ended the night celebrating a unique friendship and thanked the universe we have the gift of eachother.
This was her text .. not really special .. but it meant heaps to me
I have a little pixie
She's way up in the sky
I've told her to watch over you
She replied ... OK, but why?
I told her you are my best friend
And you mean so much to me
She said she'll take much care of you
And how your life should be
So when you feel the warmth at night'
She's letting you know she's near
She's right beside you wherever you go
Filling your life with cheer.
