Was really tired after a long day of shovelling a truck load of compost into the gardens and thrilled when my daughter and grandsons surprised me with a visit after dinner.
When it was time to leave .. my darling grandson Jett was found in my bed .. and told his mum he was staying ... to look after his nanny.
THIS was one of those moments that welled my eyes.
For the past few hours I have had an absolute ball.
Had (let me see) about 8 girlfriends around to my little pad drinking champagne (and strawberries) AND ... AND ... AND ... surrounded by gold, diamonds and lots of bling bling. A woman's dream!
See Brian and Mary are from Sydney and are jewellery merchants. I have known them now for some 12 years and lo and behold Brian rang me out of the blue . This voice singing My Cherie Amour into the phone ... Ohhhh Brian ... it has been soooo long. Cherie .. I FINALLY found you. Brian .. my whole life has changed and I live elsewhere now .and so Brian ... where are you. Just driving into town and we want to come visit you. Brian .. do you have your stash with you? Sure do girl ... so Cherie rang her girlfriends ... and the rest is history.
And Cherie fell in love with a ring ... Ohhhhh yes ... Cherie has top shelf taste with a pauper's budget. So Brian let me wear IT for an hour and I just HAD to take a pic ... Because ... ONE day ... I SHALL buy that ring (yeh SURE). It retails at $9500 but Cherie .. you can have it for $6k. Sure Brian .. Sure!
Haha .. but we all had an absolutely fabulous time ... and yes we did buy some titbits ... but they were VERY mediocre compared to the one that jumped out at me.
Life really isn't about those expensive possessions hey ... it really isn't. But it was a wonderful wonderful girly giggly bling bling time.
Am sitting here wondering when we are going to have that fresh air again ... that darn dust storm that hit Sydney then Brisie yesterday .. has now travelled ALL the way up here! Can you believe that? I couldn't ... maybe if I had've listened to the news I may have been prewarned.
Was working away in my office on what was a beautiful morning and I started sneezing. Geez (I thought) this better not be a cold coming on. Got up to grab another tissue and heard the outside wind chimes clanging away. Came out onto the patio and ....
By Golly Miss Molly!! What the ??? Could've knocked me over with a feather!
How can WE have got all that dust too? We are like 3 thousand kilometres north of Sydney and 2000 north of Brisie. Smiling .. you can tell I didn't study science at school huh!
Was talking to Tenille yesterday who lives in Sydney and she was explaining how awful it all was and yeh I saw it all on the news last night ... but .. now it has blown ALL that way up here in far north queensland?? (she says scratching her head)
Bought a few CD's and first thing I did when I got home was to restack the CD Player ... hit "Play" .... THEN ..... Aaaahhhh *#* #*#* (cursing)
One became dislodged out of it's cradle and jammed the whole contraption!!!!
One hour later ... mission accomplished! Yep ... pulled the stereo out of its tight little compartment .... wires EVERYWHERE ... uns-crewed umpteem s-crews ... yanked, lifted and gingerly tugged panels ... pulled that darn cd out with the only tool I had .. kitchen tongs!! Yaaayyyy she yelled as she wiped the sweat from her brow.
Big sigh ... now ... Van Morrison is singing sweet nothings in my ear ... and I have a champagne (& strawberries) to celebrate my dollar saving mission.
You go girl ... nearly thought you were up for a whole new stereo system!!
