Well, at my age, we're allowed naps, aren't we? I don't always take them but sometimes my medication insists that I do.
I woke up this morning to fog. Mid-day saw rain pouring in sheets off the balcony above my ground floor apartment. Now that it's almost 5pm, the clouds have cleared somewhat and it's going to see the sun setting on a clear patch of day. Oregon has weather like that, but I really enjoy it. I've lived here all my life and I guess that's why I love it so much. Oregon has rain forests in the part of the state that I live in and nothing is as beautiful, hushed, mysterious, and magical as an Oregon rain forest, whether it's spring, summer, winter, or fall. To the west about 70 miles is the most breathtaking coastline you could ever ask for. And 70 miles east, you're in mountains, some of which have snow year 'round. Going a little further we have high desert. I don't know of any other state that has all of those things unless it's Washington (state, not DC).
I'm having tea and getting ready to make a little roast of pork for dinner. The girls are in their rooms, one taking a nap and the other may be writing or reading or watching a movie.
Taz, our little min pin, is taking a nap in disgust at me over my not letting him bark at people out the window. The cat is taking a nap with the girl who is taking one. All is peaceful in my world just in time for me to watch the news. A rare occasion around here, believe me.
I've been very impressed with the friendliness shown to me here at this website so far. It's good to find a place where people are this friendly.
I'd like to hear from some other folks who like to take part in Native American powwows and such. I didn't see any when I first joined, so maybe my mentioning it here will bring some response.
