Us English, not the scots irish or welsh, invented the necktie. Now, in the olden days when the nobility had family crests, the coat of arms had the centre band going from top left to bottom right, however.....if the male was , Hhm, born illegitimate then the family crest band went from top right to bottom left. now the english ties run, as i said earlier, go from top left to bottom right, whereas.....American ties go the opposite way ! Now I ain,t implying nuthin, here, but, not a lot of people know that !

I would like to say a big thank you to each and everyone who offered up prayers and support for my mother, and myself, this last week, the messages of condolence are still comeing in that I felt I had to let you all know how deeply touched i felt, more so, as reading the "blogs" some of you have more than your share of problems without takeing on someone else,s, dare I say it, I have had more support from all of you than I have had from some of my own family!, such is life. next time we meet lets have some laughter, i think we could all do with some. Till then, god bless you all.

My mum, bless her, died today, so I went to our local church, at midday, with the intention of saying a prayer for her only to find the door securely locked, turned to go back home only to notice the betting shop was open. Can somebody tell me where it all went wrong?

Strange, is it not, how a word can mean different things in english speaking countries, two come to mind....fag and shag. in the UK "shag" is not used in polite circles, it has a sexual connotation, and "fag" is slang ,for a cigarette. Now, to our American cousins,"fag" is short for faggot, which we all know was the word used before the more polite term "gay" came along. Now we in the UK just love to eat faggots, tho not the"pink" version of the word, tis said to be far too salty for English tastes! far more suited to the australian pallet I think. I am curious to know what "shag2 means in America.

Thanks for your valid comment, ynot. Seem to remembering reading, many years ago, that recently discovered manuscripts of ancient Rome said as much. Great to hear from you, would be great to "crack" a bottle of red with you, take care my friend.
