Christmas I hope you don't mind me bringing this over to the new discussions. It's a fun topic and I'd hate to see it vanish.

By Christmas on Saturday, February 22, 2003 - 12:47 pm:

Years ago I took a course at LSU which required us to see others in the class as an animal.

One of the men was seen as a red hound dog.....he was tall, had a lean face and kinda lanky with red hair.

What animal do you see yourself as????????

I think I would be a mother hen with her wings spread over her chicks.

Christmas, what a fun topic you have started. People 's looks and actions always reminded me of various animals. It was more of a fun thing and not derogatory. I guess I never though about seeing myself as one since I based my seeing someone and their looks and mannerisms and then relating them to a certain type animal. I guess I will have to think about it..*g*

Christmas a fun topic indeed! Also one that sets the imagination awhirl over the mornings first cup of coffee. Not my best time for intelligent thought by the way!

If I were to answer at this time of day my reply would probably be the Sloth! Slow moving, solitary and nocturnal by nature.

As the day progresses along with increased activity I hope for a metamorphisis into something a tad more interesting. 'S'

This is a fun topic! I'll have to think about it some more. I
did know someone who took a similiar course and had fun going
around and naming animals for people. Right now I'm a lioness,
just fed, and lazing around, lol!

Saw a lawyer in court reminded me of a praying mantis.
Tall, skinny, long arms and legs with his neck bent forward.

He lost the case.

I'm multiple animals at any given time. For certain posts I become blind as a bat and don't see them. For others I am a Jack rabbit all ears to know what is being said. Even a laughing hyena at times when it comes to some of the really funny posts that can appear.

Throughout the rest of my day I'm guess church mouse to stallion would cover the range of what happens.

I don't post here much, but I have a wonderful dog named "Missy" she is a 2 year old Doxie with a short reddish coat. I feel she is very important part of my family she eats with me, she watches TV with me even sleeps at the foot of my bed. Who ever said a dog is mans best friend, well they were right. Missy gives total love and comfort to me when I feel lonely at times.

My daughter told me something a while back that honestly made me think. She said Dad, I believe missy once was a child who loved dogs and she was reincarnated into a dog because she always wanted to be in a loving family. I still wonder about that.lol. But she does have the eyes of a loving child.

I am like Norman, a different animal depending on the time of day and my mood. Some mornings I could be mistaken for one of those large slugs that eat my marigolds. Sometimes a placid cow when I am content. When the food goes on the table, I become a fattening pig. When well fed, like Christmas, (I think it was she) I become a mother hen gathering her brood about her. I hesitate to say what I am at other times! I have been known to beccome a tigress when pushed against the wall. Should I mention ? Nah! :D

After much thought

After much thought, I have decided I am a Lhasa Apso. (I copied this from a dog site)

This is a hardy dog with a friendly, assertive, manner. Intelligent and lively, it makes a good pet, but it is naturally suspicious of strangers. (well, sometimes) Lhasa Apsos are spirited and devoted.

These little dogs are affectionate with their masters, but they will not tolerate rough or badly behaved children..(good gosh, a perfect match) They dislike being alone and can be snappish if surprised or peeved ( that's me)

Up until a few years ago, I was a tiger with all of the attributes assigned to a tiger personality in Chinese astrology. Now, I think I am an aging toy poodle. Still loving, faithful and loyal, but just let me lie on this satin pillow and pass the chocolates, PLEASE.

Welcome LadyM it's good to see you posting!

Reach over and help yourself to a chocolate from my Hersheys Pot O Gold. Only one though! Too much chocolate isn't good for aging poodles. LOL

Since it's been a busy morning, today I am a lazy contented cat on its way to a catnap.

The happiest people in the world are not those who have no problem,
But are those who learn to love with things that are less than perfect.

Do dogs also reluctantly leave their warm beds on cold mornings?
I believe I should be a Saint Benard (Bernard?) so I could rescue people in trouble. I thought of being a hunting dog, but once they have their quarry at bay, it is usually killed and I am not sure I want to bring about the killing of some poor creature through my amusement.

My oldest son brought a dog home recently. He rescued it, he says, from abuse in the city. It's a pit bull puppy. We were at first angry because he didn't ask permission, but you can't help but love her. She's in the process of being toilet trained- don't ask! and can be a pest and a mooch. We got some books from the library which dispelled the bad rap of pit bulls. In fact, the saying is, "If it ain't pit, it ain't sh@#!" Now, I tend to agree. Once we put in the "invisible fence" then things will be ok. I think.

Oh boy Banjodad, I have a difficult time being fair to Pit Bulls. All I can think of is the many who have killed or harmed little ones or even adults. One of my sons had one once and I wouldn;t go near it. He loved it.
My children were always dragging home a dog or cat and swearing it follpwed them as the tugged at the rope around it's neck. (I jest a bit, but you get the picture)
