I joined this to chat to people but I seem to have "Lost the plot" as I so rarely find anyone here,or I am (which is probably more to the point!) not onto how it works? So, a little help? I am a New Zealander, but don`t hold that against me!I am an Aussie at heart! :) Just got 1 of my 3 married off! 2 to go. I am 50,happily divorced, and ruled by my cat! A sad life, but I have hope for the future, and you gotta have that! I am trying to negotiate all this modern technology e.g computers, digital camera,D.V.D players etc etc! and I win!!....eventually! Or I find a little kid and they show me how to drive my "toys!" I live in "Roswell" aka Waimate,in the South Island of New Zealand, where I ended up after a breakdown 10 years ago, from Australia! I have just been over to see my Daughter get married and I SO want to live there again! I hate being so far away from my children! I hate living here in "Roswell" too! So, I find "virtual friends" on here,as the "aliens" in this Town, leave me cold!!! Can`t seem to meet anyone that I "click" with and that may be because I am a City person, and these people grew up here and their Parents did,and I don`t fit in,and don`t think I WANT to! So, welcome to my World,.....no! really! you are welcome to it! I don`t want it! ha ha

Hi Supergran, that should be my name too the amount of times I look after my little grandchildren both toddlers, I swear I look after them more than there parents!

Is there a chance you could up sticks again and go back to live near your daughter?

Australia is a place I have always wanted to visit, but I doubt my dream will come true now.

I dont post on here as much as I would like to but its all down to being so busy, its usually the weekends when I try to catch up a little.

I am in Yorkshire UK and apart from the price of gas:) I love it lol

Hi Flossy. Nice to meet you! Well, the secret to not getting the Grandchildren dumped on you IS to live in a different Country to them! ha ha NO! I would love to be nearer my Grandson. He is a terrific litttle guy,and I love him dearly!I hate being so far from my children, and long to go back to Australia as I love it there and my children are there! I only came back after a bad breakdown to my Parents to be cared for by them. I am recovered and just long to be back in Australia! At 50 it is`nt so easy to get work and I would be back in a flash if I could get work! My kids would love it too! We miss each other. So,you could be worse off and be so far away from your Family that you rarely see them! We all hate the distance between us! I envy you! Truly! I WANT to be in my Families lives and look after my Grandson! He is a terrific little man and I love him to bits! So thats another point of view to ponder!

Hi Again Supergran, is there a chance in the future you will be able to go back to live nearer to your children and grandson.

Maybe you could get your children to keep checking the jobs on offer, having said that use your computer to keep checking.

Here in the UK we have our "Job Centre" online so I would imagine they will in Australia.

You are obviously a stong mined person to pick yourself up and get well again after having a break down its not an easy thing to do I'm sure.

I still work but only 7 am to 9 am, monday to friday, I clean some offices near to where I live, its not the best of jobs but I also look after the 2 grandchildren both toddlers while my daughter works 3 days a week.

I'm 57 but I'm sure I will still be working at 67 :)

Flossy, I'm 70 and still working two days a week. I have done cleaning in the past. A hard job, but one that needs doing.
