Brewed Awakening
10/09 Springfield, VA - In the news, a man was arrested for indecent exposure while making coffee in his own home and walking around the house alone in the nude at 5:30am. A woman (wife of a policeman) was crossing through his property while walking her 7 yr old daughter to the school bus. She saw him through his window and reported him for exposing himself. She says he did it on purpose. It was dark outside so the guy said he didn't see anyone and says he was just making some coffee. His roommates weren't home. He could get 1 year and $2,000
First of all, what was she doing on his property and looking in his window? Secondly, he was inside his own home and, hey, there is nothing more natural than being naked...not that i encourage exibitionists to do what they do but this guy was just being naked at 5:30am in his own home. Wow, maybe my roommates and I better invest in some window treatments! lol So what do you think...guilty or not guilty? |

On the surface it WOULD seem silly.
HOWEVER, Perhaps one should wait until all the evidence is presented in COURT before rushing to judgement based on media reports ? You may watch a video interview with the "offender here http://www.wtop.com/?nid=25&sid=1790464 and also October 21, 2009 " The woman who reported to police that a man in a Springfield home exposed himself to her and her son has a different story than what Eric Williamson has told to local media. The woman told police it was 8:40 a.m. when she was walking her son to school along a path between houses. She said they first spotted Williamson naked in an open door in the car port of his home. She also told police that Williamson then walked across the house to a large window, facing the way she was walking. Fairfax County Police say they believed Williamson wanted to be seen naked by the public. " Interesting to note the time difference. The guy says 5.30am. The woman apparently claims it was 8.40am. More likely if she was walking the kid to the school bus ? Might not be terribly relevant except that it might bear on credibility. There are also suggestions that the woman is the wife of a police officer and that there MAY have been prior "issues" between her and the guy. Wait and see ? I don't think anyone will ever be able know if he was guilty or not. I saw the news video and read the article. He seemed fairly credible with his explanation. If he had lights on and it was dark outside its reasonable that he wouldn't have even seen anyone outside his house. The woman was on his property and looking through his window... It's early morning and he is probably still half asleep and not thinking that he could be showing his stuff off by walking around the house commando style. At the same time a guy has to be cognizant that if your walking around naked with windows uncovered by blinds or drapes, you could be putting on a show. I'm sure he realizes it now. Anyway, I think in this instance you'd probably have to give the guy the benefit of the doubt. I'm not sure how the Police could make a statement such as they thought he was doing it intentionally. In any case, this is not the type of charge one wants on his record. I bet he is successful in fighting it in court. From now on maybe he should throw on a pair of boxers and the woman should maybe not cut across his front lawn. |

Time differance also makes viewing differant.
Dark outside with lights on inside means a much easier view of any movement inside. Light outside normal lighting inside usually makes seeing inside more difficult. There is almost a mirror effect at this time with the glass reflecting back light & not images inside. Untold part of this is being a roommate of his & finding out his naked butt was sitting on furniture they use. |

Cover your eyes. This is not for the faint of heart
Well, I know what would determine whether or not he exposed himself intentionally or not...
...................if he had a hard-on (sorry, can't think of how to say that gently). If he did then he either gets his jollies from exposing himself or just really likes making coffee...lol Last edited by *sophia* : 10-30-2009 at 05:51 PM. |

So does that mean after your shower, if you are in your bedroom, drying off, and someone happens to walk by a window and they see you, you are now "exposing" yourself? Geez.... what next?

How pathetic .. what you do in the privacy of your own home is your business. My understanding of exposure if very different to this... unless he blatantly placed himself in front of that window for their benefit. If someone intrudes your privacy by gawking in ... Well!! She should have been told not to invade the privacy of others.

Quoted for the article.
[The woman told police it was 8:40 a.m. when she was walking her son to school along a path between houses. She said they first spotted Williamson naked in an open door in the car port of his home. She also told police that Williamson then walked across the house to a large window, facing the way she was walking. ] Does what the woman claims seem like a logical reaction to what she describes? Walking her son to a bus, spots the man naked in an open door in the car port in his garage. Then spots him again in a window? No distance from the garage to the window but even a short distance would mean she had to stick around, instead of speeding up to get her son away from her description of a lewd scene. Given what she described I think she is more guilty than what she claims the man did. |

I agree Bob. I was thinking the same thing. She had to be lingering around for quite awhile to observe all that. Plus, I saw a picture of his kitchen that showed a window at one end and sliding glass doors at the other end. She would have to be circling his house to observe both. I'll see if i can find that photo and post it here.
Investigators are looking for other women who may have seen him naked in his kitchen. I think at least one has stepped forward. LOL...i'm going to go there and sell tickets and make a bundle! |

She was walking through HIS property when she saw this......to my mind she is the one in the wrong here! She was trespassing for goodness sake! A kitchen is USUALLY not facing on the street, so she was on his property and looking in his kitchen window.....
Cut and tried case of peeping tom..ess here in my book!! |
