The Ontario Consultants on Religious Tolerance lists 44 failed christian end time prophesies from 30 CE to 1920 CE. Add to that number all the times the Jehovah's Witnesses have knocked on my door to inform me of the imminent second comming. They never seem to remember all the times they've made this same prediction and missed, 1968 comes to mind.
I don't mind the JW's comming around, it gives me a chance to try and instill in them a logical thinking process.
I'm far more concerned about what plans the corporate leaders have made then with any plans a mythical god or gods have for us.

Let me warn you, the JWs and assorted Fundies will crawl out from under their rocks, a vast range of "scriptures" in their bony hands, and not a fact or a skerrick of logic to bless themselves with.

Islam will eventually replace Christianity as the west's major religion. I base this on the fact that if I were given the choice between sitting on a cloud, playing a harp and surrounded by God, Jerry Fallwell, Pat Robertson and Billy Graham or surrounded by 72 houris, I know which one I’d choose and believe many other's would opt for the same.

I've even gotten static from family members for talking to them. I haven't had one come by that wasn't respectful and polite. I do try and instill in them some critical thinking skills and like to point out some of the contradictions in the bible. I believe they, or any missionary, aren't really concerned with my immortal soul but are only stacking up brownie points for themselves by converting us heathens.
