I find that a little hard to believe! I wonder who did they poll, certainly not me! Am I better off than my farm working parents, YES, they struggled hard to give all my brothers and sisters a better life than they had. We may have struggled, but my Dad would have been proud, and I know my Mom certainly is.

The original thread was Do we spoil our children? I will be the first to admit that I did and do, but even though I have, my two daughters, are strong-willed, independent and successful young women! My son is still going to school. But they have seen their mother, as well as their father, struggle and work hard all their lives to give them the things that have "spoiled" them, so now that they are on their own,my daughters, have an appreciation for every little thing they have to pay for.

I suppose they used a cross section of people

People that looked at the national debt. People that have observed the off shore flow of blue collar jobs and now white collar jobs. The rising cost of education (the outfit I work for will not hire anyone that lacks a college degree, mail room workers, file clerks, anyone). When I was young anyone with the grade point average could get a university degree in California nearly free of charge. And then Ronald Reagan was elected governor, it's been all downhill since.
