I just watched and listened to an interesting video on Islam. Apparently Muslims are making more and more demands in the UK. It's by a UK gentleman named Pat Condell... I'm interested in everyone's opinion of his comments. Check them out at;

As an atheist I completely agree with Pat Condell and his feelings about any religions influence on governments and on society.

I listened to both referances the one you posted & the one Skyxy101 posted. The observance by Pat Condell does a really great job of describing the intent of the religion. And the underlying reluctance of a political correct society to stop the intrusion of this religion.

But while Mr. Condell has a lot to say he has no solution other than to reject religion. Reality & actuality as far apart. Maybe Mr. Condell hasn't read that the religion has approximately 23% of the worlds population as followers. Does he really think that steady increase is simply going to go away?

Given the recent info about how the good citizens in the UK under the Labour party are more than happy to support muslims producing like rabbits while living on welfare it shouldn't be long before the non muslim good citizens in the UK will be adhering to something Glengarry posted about Dhimmitude.

Will America be next?

Here's another URL that I found interesting to visit. It's a speech by retired Colonel Allen West. He is running for the office of Congressman in Florida.

Whether you agree with his politics or not, he certainly is a fascinating speaker and obviously a very intelligent man. Some may characterize him as a Right Winger, but I do find his patriotism to be touching. In any case Colonel West has some choice words to say about Islam that may provide a different historical perspective.

Utube also has many other videos and clips featuring Colonel West. He clearly is a gifted speaker that can think on his feet and doesn't require any teleprompter. If anything, he speaks his convictions. Anyway, I suggest you check him out. I do believe that his comments should stimulate further exchanges on this forum... lol

Here's another URL that if you visit you will find out exactly how well spoken Colonel West is. You can disagree with his politics but I doubt you could dispute his professional demeanor, intelligence and his presence.

Listen to him and then listen to Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barrack Obama, George Bush or any other politician out there and it will become quickly obvious that very few if any speakers even come close in getting a point across like Colonel West. I seriously doubt any Democrat in office or not, would ever relish debating this man.

I'd hazard a guess that banning a scandal this man will one day very possibly become President of the United States. If that happens, one thing no one will ever be able to say is that he isn't well spoken and educated.

As with any religion there will be fanatics. Islam is no different from Christianity, Mormonism, Judaism, etc. All have shed the blood of others in the name of leading their victims to the true religion. Fortunately for the vast majority of any of them as they become more educated the religious influence fades as driving factor in their lives.

As with any religion, as with any political party, they have their extremists. The drivel that the "wee laddie" has been churning out shows that, even the far right B.N.P party would not use that propaganda for fear of making themselves a laughing stock. I clicked on to both blogs by Pat condell and found it very amateurish, I do not consider myself in any way interlectually superior but that was found wanting.

I think the differance between what was done in the name of other religions & Islam over the years, those were muted by civil laws.The rise of wanting Sharia Laws recognized goes against what other religions have come to accept.

Colonel West & Pat Cordell both in their own way are describing the slow & continous progression of Islam. One way to deal with it is to ignore what we see happening, or to look at the instances world wide & piece together the points made by both speakers.

It's getting harder to dismiss the intent when a religion uses suicide to kill their own or innocent civilians.With the not to subtle guidance outlined in the Quran, instead of lives lost in a futile attempt the lives lost as a result of jihad are celebrated as furthering the religion of Islam.

IMO accepting Islam would be an easy transition for liberals. Instead of goverment taking care of your needs from cradle to grave & solving lifes problems,a religious leader would. It could take another 100 years to reach that or not depending on how much political control Muslims can gain.

As for the 1% of Muslims being radical I'm not 100% sure of the math but that 1% would work out to about 1/2 the population of Australia. That might get his attention. Probably not though.

He should go back to his cut & paste about all the evils of America. Anytime he gets outside that comfort zone he sounds a little radical but then that is his opinion not something he can support as fact.

You would be welcomed with open arms.
For many years, we rarely saw a Yank in my neck of the woods - not even tourists (no crocodiles or other beasties to shoot at).

But for some reason, even my little village of 600 souls has had a minor influx of Yanks in recent times - well, half a dozen or so.
And they are permanents who have bought here - not just holidaying.
