Starling Antics 'Selling a home'

Two Starlings walk sailor fashion up the lawn. They take their time, pecking at the lawn for grubs on the way. Stop to look around. No obvious danger to be seen. The bird bath has just been filled to the brim with clean water.

Both birds go round the bottom of the bath, just making sure there are no humans, or cats who will disrupt their bath. They fly up - sit on the rim top, just looking.

Four Sparrows join in too. The Starlings fly upwards in short bursts, making the Sparrows go back down to the lawn. The Starlings go back on to the rim looking at the Sparrows as if saying, "DonŐt you try!" One Starling gets into the bath - lies flat on its stomach - wings flapping.

'Starling Two' wants to bath. The first Starling will not allow it - flies up into the air again! 'Starling Two' goes back to the lawn.

The Sparrows try again to join in, all six play yo-yos, up and down, up and down, till the first Starling has had his bath. He flies away. Sparrows try again. 'Starling Two' is now in the bath - he also plays yo-yos till the Sparrows fly away in disgust. He completes his bath - sits on the edge -ruffles his feathers, flies away. No water left in the bath! Poor Sparrows!
