Olympic Pairs Figure Skating
We were all immigrants at one time.........but we were registered
at
Ellis Island.
What do you think of the Chinese silver medalist for pairs figure skating?
What an awful tumble she took. My heart goes out to them and she was amazing to
get up from a fall like that and continue. She truely embodied the Olympic
spirit and I applaud her. But......
After they continued she made yet another mistake. The first mistake was a
horrific fall on a throw that stopped the performance and put the Olympics on a
brief hold. Mind boggling and body shattering as that was it was a point costly
mistake followed by yet another.
How do you win a silver medal after all that. The Chinese Bronze couple skated
a much cleaner program and he, too, was in pain from a groin injury.

With this new scoring system I don't see how they pulled off a silver medal.
The mens short program just proved my point. If they did a double instead of a
triple it cost them. If they fell and popped back up and continued on the groan
and comments from the commentators indicated it was all over for that skater.
"won't make it in the top five"
Well, I hope you all love the Olympics as much as I do. I carried the Olympic
Torch in
Ft.
Lauderdale for the 1996 Olympic
games in
Atlanta. I dearly love the
games both summer and winter and gladly put my life on hold while the games are
televised.
I won't even comment on what the pouty Russian skater said about the Chinese
skater AFTER SHE ALREADY HAD THE GOLD MEDAL. Up to that point I was thinking
what a wonderful story she, herself, was to even come back to skating after she
was thrown and laid on the ice unconcious and had all that therapy. Now she
makes my blood boil to think about it. Her gold medal turned brass in my opinion the same?
Now I am sure I have insulted someone. |
